For Authors

How This Works

Thanks for being interested in this promo! Books with MCs in the BTQIA+ are often thought of as “not queer enough” when the MCs aren’t in same-gender relationships, but we know that’s bullshit.

To submit your book, you should already be in either the DISCORD server for this promo or the FACEBOOK GROUP. If you are not in one of those groups, you will not get updates on the promo. I will not be using a newsletter for any information on future events or when the form is open for submissions—at this time. This could change in the future.

✨ To join the Discord, contact Torrance (torrance.sene @ gmail.com – remove the spaces around the @) for an invite link. For Facebook, you can join here.

✨ Please keep in mind that I’m running this promo on my own alongside having a day job, an author career, and being chronically ill. Please don’t expect immediate replies.

Note about the June 25th promo: This is our inaugural event and it was organized with very short notice. As such, this event is focused on visibility for the authors involved rather than book discounts. Future events will offer discounts and freebies, but books in this first promo are allowed to be full price (but you can discount if able).

Frequently Asked Questions

If I leave the group or server public, weirdos and trolls are able to flood the group. We don’t want that.

If you’re an author of queer MF or queer books perceived as “MF” and wanna join the next promo, simply contact Torrance (torrance.sene @ gmail.com – remove the spaces around the @) for the Discord link. For Facebook, you can join here.

No, just pick whichever works best for you. These won’t really be “chatty” places. But a place for be to corral info for participating authors.

The FB group is set to only allow posts by the admin only for news/announcements purposes.

Your book is eligible if it’s a romance or erotic romance with an HEA/HFN ending, and it’s in EITHER of these categories:

  • The MCs are a man and a woman. One or both of the MCs is bi, pan, trans, ace, demi, aro, questioning, or another rainbow identity.
  • One or both of your MCs is nonbinary, genderfluid, genderqueer, and/or questioning their gender, but you feel like some potential readers (and fellow authors) write them or their relationship off as “not queer enough.”

Queer MCs are NOT required to have past experience dating any particular gender, or anyone at all. If they identify as queer, they are queer. Period. End of story.

Any under the ROMANCE umbrella. This means books with the romantic relationship at the forefront and a HEA/HFN ending. If your book ends sad or with the couple not together, it’s not a Romance and it’s not allowed in this promo.

Yes, as long as it is romantic erotica that concludes with a HEA/HFN ending. You’ll be placed in the Erotic category.

Trad authors usually don’t have control over the pricing of their books and aren’t able to set discounts. But if you’re with a small press and can organize that with your publisher, sure!

This inaugural event on June 25, 2024, however, will be focused on visibility rather than discounts (since it was organized with such short notice), so yes, trad authors are more than welcome to join that one as long as they are also willing to promote the event like indie authors are required to do.

Nope. You’re welcome to identify however you wish, as long as your book is queer MF/”MF”—with no MM, FF, or polyam.

Nope, I have even written polyam pairings before and will again. But the point of this promotion is to spotlight books that get the most “not queer enough” backlash and polyam books (especially those with MM or FF dynamics happening) aren’t that.
